Greensand, or "glauconite", is a bluish-green sand that is derived from the ocean floor. It has a composition of silica, iron oxide, lime, phosphoric acid, among other chemicals, that make it an effective, natural soil conditioner or fertilizer.
It is beneficial for many types of grasses, plants, and foliage, and has the added benefit of being non-toxic to humans or animals, including to worms and microorganisms that are key to nutrient-rich soils.
