About Mason Sand

Mason Sand, sometimes called "mortar sand" or "masonry sand", is a fine sand that has been screened and washed. It is similar to concrete sand, though crushed finer and with more uniform sized granules. Projects completed with mason sand versus concrete sand will also have a more 'finished' appearance. Its properties make it one of the most versatile of sands.

Common applications:
-For cement-mixing and brick-laying
-As a joint sand for grouting between pavers
-As a foundation when constructing pools and patios
-For mixing stucco and brick and block mortar
-As a replacement for beach sand in things like volley ball courts.
